Use RefWorks? Changes coming!

If you currently use RefWorks, keep reading!

RefWorks will be upgrading to RefWorks 3 in January 2016 and will look very different.

BUT, you can continue to use the “old” RefWorks until September 2017, if needed.

BUT, if you want to get a jumpstart on what RefWorks 3 will be like, try Flow.  RefWorks 3 will look a lot like Flow, but will have more functionality.

Advantages to using Flow over the “old” RefWorks:
·         Easier to use interface
·         Easier to bring in full-text articles, websites, etc.
·         Allows you to highlight and annotate the full-text.
·         Easier to collaborate and share.

Disadvantages I’ve discovered so far:
·         It doesn’t always bring in the data you think it should.
·         When you create bibliographies, it creates them in your browser, so you need to copy and paste them into Word or other program.

Many of these disadvantages will go away with RefWorks 3.

To begin using Flow:
1.      Go to Gladiator.
2.      Click on Health Sciences Library under Top Clinical Resources.
3.      Click on Writing/Publishing/Presenting.
4.      Click on ProQuest Flow.
5.      To create a new account, click on the blue Sign Up button.

For more information about how to use Flow see ProQuest’s guide to Flow:  http://proquest.libguides.com/flow

Training and recorded webinars are available near the bottom of the page.
