AccessMedicine and AccessSurgery
You can earn up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits each year. See this video for how to register and earn CME.
Each structured Internet point of care search is designated for .5 credits. Currently, there are 17 titles that qualify for CME.

You must register for a free personal account through our institution’s subscription to ClinicalKey to earn CME credits.
To register:
1. Go to http://www.clinicalkey.com and click on the Register link located in the header.
2. As you search and review eligible, peer reviewed content your search will be automatically recorded as potential CME providing 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
3. Credits can be redeemed and certificates printed right from your ClinicalKey dashboard. To access your dashboard on ClinicalKey, click on “CME” located in the header.
4. You have up to two years from the date of accrual to claim your credits.
To earn and claim CME credits through UpToDate, you must be logged in to UpToDate with your personal registration username and password.
To Register:
1. Access UpToDate by going to www.uptodate.com from a Gundersen computer.
2. Click the Login/Register button in the upper right corner.
3. To register, complete all fields on the right side of the registration page and then click Submit Registration.
Please note:You must register from within the Gundersen network to accrue CME credits.
4. If you already have an UpToDate Username and Password, log in on the left side of the registration page.
5. You are now registered and able to earn CME credits.
VisualDx
To earn and claim CME credits through VisualDx, you must be logged in to VisualDx using your personal login credentials.
You will also need to be logged in to your personal account to claim credits and print certificates.
If you have downloaded the mobile version of VisualDx from the iTunes Store or Google Play and you are logged in with your personal credentials, you will automatically accrue potential CME credits. You can claim and print certificates from your mobile device.
Create a personal login
Skip this step and go on to step 2 if you already have a personal login for VisualDx. You can use those credentials to sign in.
1.1 To create a personal account using your Institution’s license, launch VisualDx at your institution and click "CME Certification."
1.2 Click "Create a Personal VisualDx Account" and fill out the form as instructed.
Sign in with your personal login and earn CME while at your institution
2.1 Launch VisualDx at your institution. Click "Sign Out" in the top right corner to sign out of your institution. Log in with your personal credentials.
2.2 Use VisualDx to look up diagnoses or build differentials. You will automatically accrue potential CME credits only if you are signed in with your personal credentials.
Sign in with your personal login and earn CME outside your institution’s network
3.1 Go to http://www.visualdx.com
3.2 Click on "Launch VisualDx" in the top right corner.
3.3 Sign in with your personal username and password.
3.4 Use VisualDx to search diagnoses or build a differential. You will automatically accrue potential CME credits.
Complete and claim your CME credits
4.1 Sign in to VisualDx with your personal username and password.
4.2 Click on "CME Certification" on the right hand side and then "CME Home."
4.3 Follow the steps to complete, submit, and claim your credits. You will be asked to specify the type of clinical inquiry and how the activity affected your knowledge or care. Note: Per AMA CME guidelines, if you select "No Impact" on knowledge or care, the potential credit will be marked for deletion, as it cannot be claimed for credit.
4.4 Complete only those credits acquired in a clinical setting at the point of care.
4.5 To view and print your CME certificate, click "View Certificates" and follow the instructions on the CME Certificates page.
