The Time In Between by Maria Dueñas
The story of a young woman in Spain and Morocco during the Spanish civil war in the 1930s and the beginning of World War II. Sira is abandoned in Morocco by her con man lover, and uses her sewing and design talents to become one of the top dressmakers to the elite of Franco’s regime and to the wives of the Nazis during World War II. She works undercover as a spy to provide vital information to the British about Franco and Hitler’s liaison. This story is well-told and the primary character is unforgettable. A fascinating glimpse of Spanish and Moroccan history!

The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly
Michael Connelly has a series of books written about a maverick attorney, The Lincoln Lawyer. His office is a Lincoln Town Car BPS. BPS stands for Ballistic Protection Services. I truly enjoy them because they keep you guessing from chapter to chapter and always with a laugh or two. Mickey Haller is “Defender of the Damned” and there is something about this guy...see what you think….

The Guilty by David Baldacci
In Baldacci’s latest thriller, Will Robie, the U.S. government’s most disciplined and lethal assassin, has lost his mojo due to unresolved personal issues. Will returns to his childhood home along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi to confront his estranged father who also happens to be in jail on murder charges. While the plot is not always plausible and somewhat predictable, it’s classic Baldacci and an entertaining read.

Sitting Still Like a Frog: Mindfulness Exercises for Kids (and their parents) by Eline Snel
In a simple way, it describes what mindfulness is and how mindfulness-based practices can help children (and adults) calm down, become more focused, fall asleep more easily, alleviate worry, manage anger, and generally become more patient and aware.

story of recovery from a concussion – excellent details about how his thinking
process was altered, and what he had to do to essentially re-train his brain.
