Employees, patients and visitors at Gundersen Health System have a great opportunity to view the National Library of Medicine’s Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine exhibit. Stop by the hospital lobby to see it between Dec. 21 and Jan. 30.
The story of Harry Potter and his friends unfolds in a series of novels written by J.K. Rowling. The books detail Harry’s bravery and courage at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as he encounters new adventures in the world of magic.
The exhibit allows you to journey through Renaissance traditions such as alchemy, astrology and natural philosophy, much of what intersects with Harry’s quest. As part of the exhibit, there will be weekly events and drawings. In January, there will also be an educational event featuring owls.
In addition to the exhibit, Harry Potter memorabilia will be on display in the display case on Level 3 of the La Crosse Clinic and in the La Crosse Cafeteria display case the week of Jan. 3-9. The displays will not be possible without Gundersen staff and families contributing memorabilia. If you’re interested, items can be dropped off at the La Crosse Clinic Information Desk. All items should be labeled with your name, phone extension and mailstop.
If you would like more information, contact Sue La Crosse at ext. 53847 or via email at smlacros@gundersenhealth.org.
