NEW: UpToDate® Linking
Link between two trusted applications to create the ultimate clinical decision support resource! All domestic and international customers who subscribe to BOTH Lexicomp Online and UpToDate can now access UpToDate directly from within Lexicomp Online via the UpToDate tab on the blue tool bar, without needing to exit their current workflow. Linking was already available from UpToDate disease topics to Lexicomp Online drug information. Now, users can toggle back and forth between these two respected resources to easily access relevant drug and disease information to help inform diagnosis, treatment decisions, and more.

NEW: Briggs' Pregnancy and Lactation Content
Briggs' Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation is considered one of the foremost references regarding medication safety and appropriate use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. In addition to information from our proprietary Lexi-Pregnancy & Lactation database, Lexicomp drug monographs now also include Briggs' content to increase the breadth and depth of our pregnancy and lactation knowledge and resources. Briggs’ content is available as a supplement to Lexi-Pregnancy & Lactation at no additional charge.

NEW: Linking to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Link directly to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) from the Toxicology module in Lexicomp Online to access categorical information for hazardous drugs that require MSDS, supporting Joint Commission accreditation requirements. MSDS information may include:
■
Chemical and generic name of the ingredients
■
Chemical and physical properties of the substances
■
Health hazard information
■
Precautions for safe use and handling
■
Manufacturer’s contact information

The MSDS database enables users to search by manufacturer, drug name or ingredient. Lexicomp Online users can now link to this content from the Lexi-Tox homepage or from the toxicology index, as shown below.

NEW: Pediatric Preparation for Administration Field
The Pediatric & Neonatal Lexi-Drugs database now includes a field called "Preparation for Administration," containing instructions on how to prepare the medication for all appropriate routes of administration (e.g., oral, parenteral, endotracheal, intraocular, nebulization, etc.).

ENHANCED: Improved Drug ID Search Ability
When using the Drug ID module to perform inventory management or medication reconciliation, users are now able to include the following criteria to further refine search results:
■
Drug/Product Name
■
Labeler/Manufacturer
■
NDC

ENHANCED: Updated Detailed User Guide
Lexicomp Online has replaced its previous user guide, which was only available as PDF download within the user interface, with an updated Web-hosted version that can be accessed and viewed live. To accommodate non-English-reading users, clinicians can select from a variety of languages using Google Translate with a direct link on the user guide home screen.
