Comparative efficacy content from the Formulary Monograph Service™ (FMS) is now accessible within the Lexicomp drug monographs making it easier to find comparative efficacy data within a clinician's workflow. Previously, users had to leave a drug monograph and start a new search for comparative efficacy content within the Facts & Comparisons® module. Now, users will find a direct link to in-depth comparative efficacy information within the drug monograph, helping to save time and reduce frustration when researching this data.

ENHANCED: Expanded Medical Calculators Module

Lexicomp has expanded its Medical Calculators module (Lexi-CALC™) by adding more than 40 new calculators covering various formulae and conversions requested by customers. This brings the grand total of available calculators to over 130. This enhancement applies to the module in both Lexicomp Online and Lexicomp Mobile Apps. The expanded module includes both exclusive calculators proprietary to Lexicomp as well as calculators from MedCalc 3000. MedCalc 3000 is a unique computerized medical reference and tool set that encompasses a wide array of pertinent medical formulae, clinical criteria sets, and decision tree analysis tools used every day by clinicians, medical educators, nurses, and healthcare students. Accessible directly from the Lexicomp Online tool bar and fully integrated within the Lexi-Drugs database, some of the newly added calculators include:

NEW: SCCM Drug Shortage Recommendations

Wolters Kluwer Clinical Drug Information has partnered with the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and its Drug Shortages Task Force to augment Lexicomp drug shortage information. Specific Lexicomp monographs for drugs with existing shortage issues now include direct links to SCCM's recommendations for therapeutic alternatives, which are authored by experts in the relevant field of care. This will help save clinicians time when they encounter a drug shortage, enabling them to simply and efficiently research alternative therapy plans without interrupting their workflow.
